Default getting aggressive w/ AK

home game hand

Blinds : 25/50 cent

6 handed - Villian is TAG

Hero (36$)
Villian (30$)

Hero is delt AKo

2 folds, CO raises to 2$, Hero reraises to 8$, 2 folds, CO reraises to 14$, Hero reraises all in (24$ more), CO calls all in (18$)

Looks good given your stack sizes. Had it been full stacked, you can take some alternate lines. Reads also help.

Very easy play here with the short stacks.

this hand was actually a friend's hand where i was the villian and i thought it was a terrible play at first, for a few reasons. the hero here is very LAG and im very TAG, and dont think ive ever really made a 2nd reraise preflop to any1 w/ out JJ+. (sorry i should have originally posted this read) I have no problem w/ the hero here reraising w/ AK in position but my reraise (although it should have just been a push in hind sight) really narrows down my range to a high PP and definately pot commits me giving him no FE to a push. So basically my question is why are we pushing AK knowing were at best on the worst side of a coin flip, if not thoroughly dominated against AA/KK. Is putting in 1/6 of our stack really committing us? I just dont see how this makes any sense in the long run, if we keep pushing w/ AK its going to catch up w/ us at some point, is it not? Even w/ out the read here what range are u giving someone TAG that makes a 2nd reraise preflop?

thoughts..

Sometimes people cant get away from high pps regardless of opponent.

And a lot of times people dont see you as you see yourself, remember they are not sitting over your shoulders seeing how you play every hand in every situation, they have limited info that may give you a diff image.

And like everyone said you all are shortstacked
