Oddly, I think Canterbury has the same chips and those don't slip at all.

Yes they have a coating to make them last longer since they have an RFID chip inside. I can only riffle a small stack (unlike other chips), but someone on another thread said that they can riffle a tall stack -- it's just different.

There is no RFID inside. These chips are older than the RFID line of Bud Jones chips. But you are right that Bud Jones does a line that includes RFID, and the Borgata staff were telling people that they were getting new RFID chips with ridges when the new poker room was going to open. New poker room now here, no chips

Thanks for the info. A dealer told us after the new room opened that they had RFIDs, so he must've just assumed they made the switch. It seemed believable since a broken one looked like it had something embedded in the middle. I guess they'll get new chips sometime after they get those fancy screens on the tables working. If ridges mean they'll behave more like "regular" chips, I'll be happy.

The way I was told about the ridged chips was that they'd lock into each other thus preventing some of the chip cascades on the higher limits (the reds weren't so bad, but the one time I tried 40/80 the blues were definitely more slippery)
