Default Foxwoods

I've been to Vegas about a dozen times and Atlantic City a few dozen times. I'm trying to schedule a trip to Foxwoods. Does anyone have ideas about getting a room here on the weekends? How hard is it, how much? I've seen some outrageous rates online ($350+) and they appear to always be booked on weekends. If anyone who's been there before can give me some insight, that'll be great. thanks.

This time of year its very expensive, you could find a room outside the casino (within 5 miles) from anywhere in price range of 100.00 thru 200.00 depending how far and how clean of a room you want. If you want pm me and I will tell you a good place to stay.

I've never stayed at the wonder of it all; always booked, always expensive.

I usually get a room in Groton for between $50 and $75 dollars through Priceline. I've even gotten rooms for as little as $35. Groton's about a 20 minute drive from the Casino. There's a nice route through the woods or you can do the I-95 to exit 92 thang.

Foxwoods doesn't have enough rooms and neither does the immediate area so they all price gauge on the weekends and often it's hard to find any rooms available.

Hilltop inn and ceder park are both reasonable and are just down the street. If you're willing to drive 10-15 minutes you can find cheaper places in Mystic or Groton.....Unfortunately you will need a car.

FWIW i just decided against going to FW in Nov. because it's such a hassle getting rooms there.

Use the internet and be willing to take Mystic, Groton or New London.

Does anyone know when the rates fall? I know once or twice I was able to get 2 trees at a decent rate.

Adding to that, how nice is foxwoods? Is it as run down and old as some of the AC casinos?

Not very, it's not run down or anything, which would at least be acceptable, it's just the ugliest casino in the history of the world. Not quite as gaudy as the Taj, but the color scheme is 100 times worse.

Foxwoods is kind of like the moon and Mohegan Sun is like Earth

And when he says "Foxwoods is kind of like the moon," he's not talking about that thing up in the sky. He's talking about that thing with the big brown eye in the middle.

Foxwoods is the fugliest edifice I've ever seen. Gotta wonder what sort of edifice complex its architects suffer.
