Re: Pokerstars 180 Final table shortstacked
Could you guys give me some examples on what your open shoving ranges would be when you are shortstacked and what your ranges for calling open shoves would be with middle stacks and big stacks in this situation? As I said before, I'm kind of lost when it comes to figuring out when to shove my chips in these situations.

Re: Pokerstars 180 Final table shortstacked
There's no need to overthink this. You have the fourth strongest hand in Hold'em at a 5-handed table with a short stack. There's no math to do. Get it all-in preflop.

Re: Pokerstars 180 Final table shortstacked
You guys have to undertand that just making a post that says get all in PF w/ JJ doesn't do a whole lot for a cash player that's expanding into MTTs and used to folding JJ preflop in a lot of spots (of course I didn't mention I'm mainly a cash player, but just so you know). I really appreciate the responses that give the reasoning behind the action.

Re: Pokerstars 180 Final table shortstacked
open shoving range when really short and late should be superwide wide...remember each one you win makes you a bigger danger on your next push...on the flip side every chip you lose hurts your ability to steal...btn or small blind I push with any A or K or pair (if unopened)...also a decent numbers of SCs...may change a bit on reads but I don't want to wait and have to react
that being said if th pot is opened my calling range is slightly tighter as I have no FE...don't fold too many pairs (and none 1010+)...you will be surprised at the range of hands you will see as blinds get higher |

Re: Pokerstars 180 Final table shortstacked
I hadn't really thought that much about shoving SC besides the occasional KQ or QJ, and I haven't thought at all about shoving any K. I'll definately take those into consideration.
