dont know why im playing at the moment?

hi guys,

been playing poker now for a couple of years and for the first time find myself wandering why im bothering to play. I still love the game and regularly think about it, read about it etc, but when im playing online im not getting a buzz anymore. I got really sick of grinding my usual 1/2 and 2/4 limits so decided to play way above my bankroll and have a weekend of 10/20 heads up. In short after winning and losing to the point im almost a few hundred where i started I still dont feel much of a buzz- even when i won my first $2000 pot i wasnt nearly excited as a should be but when I lose the same I feel awful as I start to think of it in real life value.
In short I feel mildly addicted yet bored at the same time. Does anyone else ever get this feeling? Besides poker life is grand though im a student so most of my money should be coming from poker, though recently as i say, I just have no interest in grinding. Addicted is probably the wrong term as I dont play an unhealthy amount, its just that I used to take so much pleasure from the game and i dont any more.
This may read like random nonsense but any comments are welcome

It sounds like the challenge of beating the game you play is gone. You could try out some new games, stt's, mtt's, omaha hi-lo etc

sounds like you should a take a break from poker for a few weeks perhaps? how much do you play normally?

this is very true

when i was underage (18 now [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img] ) i only got to play when at home (went to boarding school which was like 2 weeks and then i would be away for 4ish weeks sometimes 8 weeks and i would always find i wanted to play poker after these breaks and would get a buzz from even very small limits and wanted to play them just for teh sake of playing poker.

do take a break for a while and learn something you have always wanted to try and do, and then carry on learning that while playing poker if you can multitask well [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

It's pretty tough to win a $2000 pot playing 10/20 HU limit.
