Re: JJ 6 handed
[ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't cap the flop and there is no way in hell u should raise the turn. River fold seems fine, although CO having 99 and sb AT/9T would be funny as hell. [/ QUOTE ] yay someone I agree with. |

Re: JJ 6 handed
seems like you already came to your conclusions about this. i guess you found out you were behind when CO 3-bet the entire field on the flop, so call, as the odds justify on the flop. and the same on the turn.
on the river i can't find any combo of hands that you beat, but i still don't even know if that is good enough info to fold for 21-1. we are human beings, not robots, so we do wierd things sometimes. the question is how often is that? probably a lot less than the 5% needed to call, so I guess its a fold. i guess SB had TT, and CO had AA and was looking for an overcall? |

Re: JJ 6 handed
i still dont understand why you would rather call the turn and river and potentially get outdrawn than raise the turn and check the river.
dont tell me you are calling the turn just spike a rivered J, and otherwise folding? if you want to showdown this hand i think you have to raise the turn. otherwise just fold the turn and forget it. |

Re: JJ 6 handed
This is just a cooler of a hand, period. There's so much strength being shown that I think it's defensible to just get out of the way on the flop. The fact that it's 6-handed makes it much tougher to give so much credit out, but this is a NYC game with mostly old-school folks...they're not that great, but the SB is unlikely to be calling four cold with T9, for instance. UTG could have a fairly wide range opening in a 6-handed game, but the other two players are very likely to have very real hands.
I think you're very rarely ahead on the flop here, and your reverse implied odds are pretty bad to continue...I don't think mucking the flop is that bad given that you could easily get c/r'd, so you can't just look at immediate odds. No, I'd never fold this early in a typical game, but given the description of opponents, I think you're drawing to two outs most of the time. The turn is also close, but I think it's a fold if you're planning to muck the river...you aren't getting proper odds to draw to a jack, and the implied odds are somewhat cancelled out by the fact that SB could c/r you. I guess the river fold is OK, though I'd usually toss in a final bet in that pot. You're basically never good, though, so I can't complain...probably a leak in my game. |

Re: JJ 6 handed
When your friend 3bets the flop, you are usually behind.
You are pretty much never good on that river. |

Re: JJ 6 handed
Aragorn I generally agree with you except this wasn't the Nyc game you speak of, this was a late night borgata game.

Re: JJ 6 handed
Even so, given your description, it's not a typical casino 20-40 crowd. I still think there's plenty of merit to getting the hell out of the way given this action.

Re: JJ 6 handed
I'd call co's 3-bet on the flop here (instead of capping) needing to spike a J on the turn. Fold the turn unless you have a really unusual valid reason to believe you have top pair here. Preflop is close for all three decisions.
