Well, the thing is I was pretty sure that villian would call my shove on the turn and any bet for that matter if, he had an A in his hand, because he was a calling station type.

I think based on you description of player you played it fine, passive/stationy, who limps good aces in late position. He's called a big bet on flop, so seems to like his hand.

I think he's calling A10+ here, which is a big chunck of his range.

A big turn raise is pretty much all in anyway, so you may as well shove it in good.

Note - he's got 8 outs on the river, which is a decent draw, so you want be getting it in early, not waiting to see if it hits so you can fold.
