Why don't whoever can control this just do it. If traffic sucks or whatever, you can always just recombine the forums...it seems very simple IMO.

Just pick somewhere to split it (100NL seems to be a good spot - can post in both) and just do it already.

200NL+ live hands should go in the NL 200+ forum because trying to have some kind of split that is NL200+ on line but NL500+ live would be difficult to communicate and enforce.

Maybe that's a good reason to make the split at NL 200+ since most live 1/2 games have a $100 buy-in. That would mean the live split would be 1/2 and 2/2 NL $100 in the lower forum, and 1/2 and 2/2 NL $200+ buy-in in the higher forum. But if the split was NL$100 then you'd end up with some posts from live 1/2 and 2/2 NL$100 games that play a lot like NL$10 on-line.

As for the post quality, the live posters in the higher forum would just run the risk of the usual "you suck" feedback. But I bet there wouldn't be very much of that in the higher forum since there just aren't that many live game posters even if the few you read don't measure up to your expectations.

Who has the ability to do this, and why hasn't it been split already? I know I don't open up hardly any NL50 and under threads to reply to; maybe it's selfish but I'm looking for upper level advice, theory, and hand postings when I come to the FR forum, and usually it's just not here. The regs from higher levels would seem to benefit more from the advice at MSNL because of this.

100nl is a fishtank. the only difference is that the regulars at 100nl are much better than the regs at 50nl. But there are just so many fish it's not even relevant

I don't ever comment much about this, so here is my two cents. First, I have played 500k+ hands at NL100 and ~200k hands at NL200. They are completely different games. Despite wanting to be with the big boys, the advice/thoughts a NL100 player might give/have just does not measure up to some of the more advanced concepts that a NL200+ utilizes in his or her play.
