$5.50 9 man
Sorry, I didn't get the HH and don't feel like digging back. This hand recently came up in a $5.50 9 man.
25/50 blinds (non turbo) with hero on the button. Hero wakes up with QQ and reraises to t150. SB flat calls and BB and another MP limper fold. Flop comes K73. SB bets out t250 into t450 pot. Hero raises allin and SB flips over AK. Turn and river brick out. Advice on this hand? I think it was played fine, especially considering the extreme range of the SB flat calling with, AK wasn't up there. |

Re: $5.50 9 man
I don't think it was a good play, you are only getting called if you are beat.

Re: $5.50 9 man
I think you need to raise a little more preflop, like 200 with the MP limper.
The flop is read and stack size dependent. |

[/ QUOTE ] That was my initial thought, but I figured with a 150 raise SB would come along (ugh, why hah) with almost ATC where he would brick out more often than not. And that is my main question - HU with the SB flat calling a preflop raise can you really put him on an AK? I understand that I'm only getting called by hands that beat me, but I was 6 tabling and was going for the pot more than action. |

Re: $5.50 9 man
Without a read, your play sucked. Villains put you on AK all day long, and if they lead into you on that board, count on them having a king.

Re: $5.50 9 man
a useful piece of info would be stack sizes, mainly yours and villains. but yea if you had a decent stack size no reason to bust out here (or potentially bust seeing as how you sucked out).

It is unorthodox to call AK there, but a lot of people do. And KQ and KJ and K10 at this level. I would probably fold. Raise more preflop. |
