Default Contest?

Do you guys/have you guys ever had a contest on here? I think some sort of friendly competition thing could be cool, with different weight classes perhaps. Obviously people have different goals such as strength or looking cut, etc. but it seems like there is some potential here for a contest. I'll post more suggestions if people are warm to the idea in general

What is the competition and what do I need to shoot for in the OHS? I'm always looking for goals. I've gotten comfortable with the movement and I plan to start focusing a bit more on it soon, upping reps and intensity.

I know I sound like a huge party pooper on these forums, and I know I usually read too much into stuff, but contests are not good things (coming from someone who used to compete in power lifting events). I think that "competing" against anyone but yourself leads to the wrong mindset.

Although I would enjoy winning a prop bet, I don't see it happening-- and I basically agree.

I kind of wanted something to shoot for on my own with OHS. The ideas I've seen are 1x15 at bodyweight or high reps at 95 pounds (Crossfit). And there is Crossfit's "Nancy."

edit: Maybe I should add, I'm not interested in trying to get near a 1RM.

how about the most progress in a given major lift over a time-period?

There was a prop bet thread that had some fitness angles and nothing worked. Somehow it seems to have inherently too much switzer measuring or bragging as well as other problems (how much do you want to take a bet with someone willing to bet they can do task X?)-- so that kind of thing seems like a dead end.

I do like the idea of a thread where someone states a goal and then tracks progress towards it. Piggybacking on the earlier suggestion, it might be fun to watch people with similar goals-- somehow have them consolidate some of their logging and perhaps inspire each other...? Maybe not, i don't know.
