Preflop is fine, once you hit your 9 the raise is good.

Did you call on the flop to see what he would do on the turn? What if he bet 3/4 pot or full pot?

What if he bet 1/2 pot on the turn and a 3 came out (instead of a 9), would you call then?

I called on the flop for a few reasons :

I had the 2 outs for my 9. I also held a jack, basically ruling out that if a 9 name, I had the nuts as he didn't hold JJ.

I was assuming he was drawing or probably had the over pair KK/AA. I called on the flop basically to see another card if I could hit my two pair and/or set, because I was sure he didn't have JJ or a lower flopped set. If he 3/4 pot or full pot bet the flop, I would have folded, but it seemed like he was trying to increase the pot for his draw more than him trying to say 'call me' if that makes sense.

As for betting the turn, I would have probably folded unless it was the 3 of hearts, giving me an added ~5 outs we'll say to his possible overpair of QQ KK AA. (This was basically what I had him on the whole time)

The flop call was fine (I just wanted to make sure you understood why you were calling), but I would guess his bet was a defensive bet with his AA or KK or a continuation bet rather than a 'call me' bet.

That is what I meant - it was more of a defensive bet than a call me, I have the nuts type of bet. May have worded a bit wrong there.

Would like some more opinions here because I think I played it fine, but not 100% sure.

Not sure why it didn't show it on the turn, but my turn raise put me all-in.
