Really no MS notebook with the power/memory you want is light enough to lug around to school. You should really consider it. Go to a Mac store pick one up and you'll wet urself. |

Re: Build me a laptop, earn $30
Duck,
Don't listen to other people that will spout off some random Dell or macbook. Those laptops are not nearly as lightweight and portable as a thinkpad. I've tried many laptops and the one I use everyday is the one that is easiest to carry. Also, random internet people generally don't have your financial interests in mind, and are likely to just tick a whole bunch of boxes with huge markups for things you really don't need, inflating the price of what you should be paying by double if not more. Like the previous replier said, "more expensive is better", this is certainly false, and you can easily spend more money paying for what you don't need [ex. software, camera, etc.] instead of buying improved components of things you want (battery, ram, diskspace, proc. speed, etc.) As far as computers go, something that is underrated is how much RAM is in it. Be sure to get lots of it. If you want to save $1000, I would go here. (To be absolutely clear, these laptops were never used and are brand new.) You do have to do an extra 5 minutes of work to look through the list, but it shouldn't be hard for a smart girl like you. Also, spec-by-spec, the thinkpads do seem to be "worse" (than, for example Dell ones), but you are paying for the portability which is amazing. Have fun with your new thinkpad. ~Dice |

Also, the person who posted that screenshot needs to remember to crop it, so in the future they don't wreck the width of threads.
