He is laying you like 1-7 excluding the implied cold calls +river payoffs if you hit. I would say this is an easy cold call.
(Mr. Deranged see the correction above. You may want a free card if confident that you are behind. )

OK, well I called as did everyone else. The turn was a 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB bet out again, 1 guy called, and the guy that 3 bet the flop raised. What do I do now?

[/ QUOTE ]

Call and river the boat.

You're probably behind at this point, but given the action I think you've got the odds to pull to your many outs against the straight and/or flush. Fold to action on the river if you miss.

Now it gets crazy. River is 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Action is bet, raise, raise before it even gets to me. What now?

I like a cap for value right now. If you're behind you'll still fill up about 35% of the time. Get the money in the pot now.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree our hand is good enough for 1 more raise but if we're not good filling up often won't help.

I'd better qualify that.
I've played a lot of hands like this where the raisers had straights or a 5 and the pay off was hughgantic.

I guess you do have the smallest boat here, but I say go for it.

lol. I made my last post before I read the river action. Anyway if I'm reading that right and it's 3 cold it's closer to a fold than a raise. There's a difference between "maybe one person is overplaying a flush or doesn't know what a full house is" and "maybe 3 people all somehow have hands worse than ours and don't understand that they're no good".

More bets pre-flop. More bets on the flop.

[/ QUOTE ]

i agree with this stranger's comments.

raising preflop has at least 3 upsides.

1)value
2)see the turn for free maximizing our(small) chance of hitting our set.
3)if we do hit, we suck people in to giving action when drawing dead or close to dead with UI overs/one pair/overpair-type hands.
