Anyone with a home gym???

After putting in 8 hours at the slave locker, I don't like driving all the way to 24 hour fitness. I'm seriously thinking of getting a bench and some weights and maybe some dumbells to go with it. About the only thing I wouldn't be able to do is squat, which isn't that big a deal, I usually squat every other week.

Pros:
Save gas and time
beat the crowds, especially the 5 O' Clockers
not get exposed to germs
Not having to deal with someone's ass and head sweat on a bench [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]


cons:

having subpar equipment
not being able to view hotties (though in the weightroom, it's mostly void of the hotties)
staying couped up inside the house

Does anyone have their own little setup at home or does everyone here have a gym membership?

I have a power rack and some dumbbells at home. Works well enough.

Both just bought a nice home setup for the winter when I find myself not going to the gym.

Oh also I work out at 24 Hour Fitness. I prefer to work in the gym but occasionally don't want to leave the house so I lift at home and go running outside.

a) Squat more
b) Get a power rack so you can squat
c) IMHO, joining a gym is the better option

I set up a home gym, and I work out waaay more than I used to. The time I save by not needing transportation made all the difference.

I do all my work at home (mostly outside) or at the park.

Equipment-
Power Rings

Swiss Ball
Kettlebells 2x32kg 1x24kg 1x16kg
400 lb olympic weight set for deads and all kinds of presses.
jump rope
portable pull-up bar
evil wheel


You shouldn't need any kind of equipment at all to get results, but its funner with stuff. And there are places to look at ladies without paying a monthly fee, and they won't distract you from getting it done.

this would enable me to play poker at the Indian casino during the week too.. I'm really trying to play more, but by the time I get home from the gym, it's too late to hit the felt.. Granted, I like going to the gym when it's not too crowded, and wouldn't even consider a home gym if I didn't have a j-o-b
