Default Mike Hargrove Resigns as Mariners Manager

Story

Hargrove resigns and John McLaren will be the manager for the rest of the year. Strange considering how well the team is doing this year.

Rumour is he is a big baby who wanted a fat contract extension and the team didn't offer what he wanted, so he's going to take his ball and go home. I'm sure this incident will really help him when he interviews for the next gig.

So does this technically make him smarter than Bill Bavasi?

His attempt to run the Mariners into the ground wasn't working anymore, so he had to get out before they finished above .500

Maybe, in light ofhte Yankees' hitting woes, Steinbrenner has decided against Mattingly . . . ?
