Re: River tubing.
What is river tubing?
Is it like white water rafting on inflatable boats, only without the white water and more beer? |

Re: River tubing.
It's like white water rafting in a bathtub, with beer.

Re: River tubing.
so i've done this on the apple river a couple times, lots of fun. we always smoke a [censored] of weed on the float, and once we saw a guy on the side at a picnic table who noticed we were smoking and tried to sell us some pipes- i guess people drop them in the water all the time and eh finds them, cleans them and sells them. weird.

Re: River tubing.
I've been tubing on the Current river in southeast Missouri a few times. I was 13 last time I went so no beer.

Brought back memories of floating down the Penticton canal from Okanagon Lake to Skaha. Thanks

Re: River tubing.
Done it twice, both times on acid. Highly recommended!
One time the girls wanted to take a break so we stopped off on shore. I stepped into the brush to take a piss and apparently made contact with some type of prickly foliage. Nothing like scratching sunburned legs like an absolute mother [censored]! I honestly thought I was gonna have to get to a hospital. Fortunately the itching subsided after about 10 very long minutes and good times resumed. My outings were in Michigan- once on the Thornapple River (nice and clean but the water was kinda low). The other was on the Muskegon by Hardy Dam in Newago (trashy scenery). You guys got any suggestions wrt a really beautiful setting worth a weekend roadtrip (in the Midwest)? |

Re: River tubing.
Apple river is the "big spot" in the midwest that I'm aware of. It's something like 6 hours away from where I live, but people regularly make the trip to tube there even though we have a decent river 10 min away. It's been a few years since I've been there, but they still have like a shuttle bus to bring tubers around right? Are there many other rivers in the US that have such services?
Brag, going out tubing for the first time of the year in less then 3 hours, skunk river here I come |

Re: River tubing.
Peyote on some river in the desert would totally rule.
I don't know why it never occured to me to recommend tubing to all the kids that make "What should I do for my first acid/shrooms trip" posts. With the right crew on a nice day, I really can't think of a better time. |
