tough spot against a brilliant lag
4 handed 20-40. im on the button w/ A8o. very laggy, tough aggressive high limit pro raises utg. he has been running over the game. i 3 bet. sb folds, bb who is also a very good player but has been losing his mind against utg and spewing with turn 5 bet bluffs calls, utg calls.
the flop is JT5 rainbow, checked to utg who donks, i call, bb calls. the turn is a K. checked to me and i check. the river is a 4. bb checks, utg bets, i ??? |

Re: tough spot against a brilliant lag
I don't like the flop call, even 4 handed. That's really a bad flop for you against two opponents, and you're sandwiched. as played, I fold here...still a player to act who could call with T9 or something. If you really really have a read he's bluffing, raise, but I think you can pick better spots than this...

[ QUOTE ]
seems like a very easy flop fold [/ QUOTE ] I agree, and the river seems like an easy fold also. The lag-pro has A8 beat close to every time so theres no point in calling, and bluffraising the river is pointless cuz theres no hand we can represent so I dont see the pro folding a better hand ever. I still think raising the river is better than calling however becuz who knows maybe the lag will fold a hand like T9s even though he wont get how he's losing, but folding is by far the best play on the river IMO. |

Re: tough spot against a brilliant lag
Tough spot against a player you call 'brilliant'? 3-bet pf, he bets flop and river after turn is checked into 2 players. How tough is this? If you think you're winning or going to take it away from him w/ a raise I think you're wrong.

Re: result
4-handed, I don't mind a river call, but the fact that these guys had what they had doesn't mean I like the flop call any more than I did before.
