Default Another FTP $10/45 hand, playing from the big blind

Blinds are now 400/800 and hero has advanced to teh final table with a healthy 10k stack.

Still 9 people remaining.

Hero (BB): 10,000
UTG: 5,000

UTG limps in. Action folds to big blind, hero has K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Hero checks.

Flop comes J28 rainbow.

Action?

Assume hero checks and UTG makes an 800 chip bet, then what?

Personally on one hand you could raise he betting 800 into a 2000k pot may well be a steal attempt. Making it 2400 to go here poses the question to the guy utg. Hes going to be looking at playing with his whole stack in this hand.

On the other hand he may well have limped with AA KK utg and be trying to drain the pot. I'd have to have seen him play throughout the tourney to make a wise decision.

Its either raise or fold. You dont want bet > raise > call here as then your most likely beat. Depending on my read of this guy, im raising him with the best hand, however looking to take down the pot on the flop. Or folding knowing im behind.
