Default Basic pot odds question

If there is 500 in a pot between two players, A and B, and A bets 50, does B have 10:1 or 11:1 as his pot odds?
Basically, do you include your own call in the pot odds calculations?

Default Re: Basic pot odds question

No, your own bet is not included. In sports betting, if you make a bet paying 2:1, that means you will get back your original bet plus twice your bet in profit. If pot odds are 2:1, it means if you call and win you will receive your bet back plus twice your bet in profit.

Edit: Note that in you example the pot odds are 11:1 though, because A's bet IS included, so the pot is its starting 500 plus the bet of 50, for 550 in total. 550:50 = 11:1. If your call were also (incorrectly) included, it would be 12:1.
