villain (ep) is a regular. i don't know much about him but this is the biggest game in the room (lol). 5-way limped pot and i check. * FLOP * J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] sb checks, i check, ep bets, mp calls, button calls, sb folds, i call. * TURN * 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players, 4 bb) i check, ep checks, everyone checks. * RIVER * K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players, 4 bb) i check, ep bets, fold, fold, i call.

I would like to fold the flop, but getting 8:1...meh.
turn is good for you. I dohn't think you are good enough on this river to make it worth it in that miniscule pot. With him checking the turn I guess it's ok. No way am I overcalling. On the bright side, you have a read on villian now. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I agree with Bozlax here, I think we need to bet this flop. As played, I call the river too. The flush didnt hit anyone, and EP already bet out on flop, so it is unlikely he hit that king.

[/ QUOTE ] good question! i guess i've been leading a lot in spots like this[**] and i wanted to try something different. upon reflection, i think that leading is a fine play, especially in this smallish pot, and that i was probably being a puss because i'm running bad a little. the plan was check-and-see. ep villain's bet surprised me because he hadn't seemed particularly aggressive. so after that guy bets and a couple callers, i called and thought about donking a safe turn. [**] not in this particular session, but over the last couple weeks.
