Re: Does Posada end up in the Hall?
JoA,
In retrospect that makes sense. I'm thinking of some of the other James stuff like "was he ever considered the best at his position?" which I think is a decided "no" for Jorge. FWIW that book was mostly lousy anyway. |

Re: Does Posada end up in the Hall?
Maybe I'm missing something here, somebody fill me in.
When I think of Jorge's resume/HOF credentials, I think: -top 5 offensively at his position for 5-10 years -4 World Series winning teams Which is clearly not enough to get into the HOF, right? Somebody please explain to me what I'm missing. k thx. |

Re: Does Posada end up in the Hall?
He's been the best player at his position over the past decade at the 2nd most valuable position in baseball.
Anyone who says he's not good enough for the HOF is just dumb. The only argument for him not belonging(and it's valid) is he didn't/hasn't played long enough. |

There is virtually no chance of Posada making the Hall of Fame even though his stats are padded via 'the live ball era' and very good offensive Yankee teams. The Hall of Very Good he is a lock but the Hall of Fame he is looking in. Re: Does Posada end up in the Hall?
I should also add that Catcher is not the 2nd most valuable position in baseball. Good hitting Catchers are usually converted to first basemen. I would agree that Catchers are often underrated and the Hall should (and does) accept lessor offensive numbers due to the defense added and the wear and tear on the body.

Re: Does Posada end up in the Hall?
Jorge has definitely been better than Piazza and Pudge over "the past decade."
The guy's definitely as good a hitter as other HOF catchers. I don't see how anyone can dispute that. |

Re: Does Posada end up in the Hall?
I did not say that. I said that Jorge was better than Piazza and Pudge over the last 10 years.
Piazza was probably the only better peak hitter than Posada, however. |
