Razz - calling 4th?
Who folds 4th here? I hate 9s because I never know whether to consider them bricks or not. I feel like it's too early to give up, like if it was J/Q, I'd call, I think. I don't know why it being 9/T threw me, but it did.
Razz ($5/$10), Ante $0.50, Bring-In $2 (converter) 3rd Street - (0.70 SB) Seat 1: xx xx A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___raises Seat 2: xx xx 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___folds Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___calls Seat 4: xx xx 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___brings-in___folds Seat 5: xx xx 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___folds Seat 7: xx xx 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]___folds Seat 8: xx xx 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]___folds 4th Street - (3.10 SB) Seat 1: xx xx A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___bets Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]__? |

Re: Razz - calling 4th?
fold because your draw is bad and missing 87 cards.
J/Q (or 9/9) would be a call IMO though. |

Interesting how this is a better call with QJ. I think I'm beginning to understand why 9/T always seems so hard to play in either direction. |

I think you should fold 3rd [/ QUOTE ] I know! It's horrible, isn't it? I think I called because all those little cards folded and I thought, "There must be a lot of little cards out." Dumb. It was one of those "feeling" hands. And I ended up winning it and being real embarrassed because I played it so badly. Maybe I called because I was surprised at the bet from the 9. I would've checked, I think, to a T. And it's all Rusty's fault, anyway, he convinced me to start playing 8s. |

Re: Razz - calling 4th?
You have to revalue hands based on the board. That many of your outs missing moves a hand down like 2 notches. Favorable board conditions make that a raising hand for me.
I'd probably consider either raising to see if he's serious, or folding. I'd probably fold much of the time. |

Your thinking with all the little cards in the window isn't far-fetched. Your opponent would have been better off trying to bluff on 5th street than attempt it on 4th. Also, if he did have you dominated he would be likely to check on fourth to induce a bluff from you on 5th if you'd bee playing fast. I love the play here. A raise from you on 4th would have been ballsy, but not necessarilly out of line. |

You need to let us know this in the thread subject! Adar: why are you drawing the call/fold line between catching a T or a 9 vs. villain's 9? With hero's 8 kicker the difference is almost inconsequential (2% equity actually). |

Re: Razz - calling 4th?
cause a 9 is gonna play a whole lot better when your 8 is concealed.
