Default LP SC line check

About an hour into a PAD qualifier. UTG+1 has limped often and folded a number of rivers. My table image is pretty tight.

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $50/$100
9 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $920
UTG+1: $9758
MP1: $1920
MP2: $6707
Hero: $5235
CO: $655
Button: $585
SB: $890
BB: $885

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is MP3 with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, Hero raises to $300, 4 folds, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($1050, 3 players)
UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets $1050, UTG+1 calls, MP2 folds.

Turn: K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($3150, 2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero ????

PSB is pretty close to my remaining stack.

like it but please raise more pre...in this instance all worked out well but most times you want to steal the limps and blinds and $300 is nothin more than a pot builder...

POT sized bet on flop is odd since you nailed it...I may bet a little less and hoped to get raised so I could push...

hesitate and bet around 2K on turn and call a push...

if not just get it in on river

Raise to like 500-600 if you are going to punish the limpers pre-flop.

on the flop as played, your bet size is too big, you want action, so just bet like 500-750 and try to get your chips in there if possible.

On the turn I probably just shove to look scared and hopefully get a call from AcXx that has a pair on the board or two pair or something.

If you bet like 1.5k-2k and he just calls and a club falls on the river and he shoves you are in a bad spot with like 20 BBs left, you might have to fold which is terrible.

I think you get a call from two pair and some Ac hands as well as trips and stuff so I think a turn shove is worth it.

Ok, here is the rest of the hand . . . just wanted to make sure I had thought it through correctly. Given the positions and betting thus far, I had put Villain on an overpair/set, and this sounds like what most of you figured.

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is MP3 with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets $1050, UTG+1 calls, MP2 folds.

Turn: K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($3150, 2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero is all-in $3885, UTG+1 calls.

River: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($10920, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: $10920)

Results:
Final pot: $10920
Hero showed Tc 8c
UTG+1 showed 3c Qc

Hard to imagine I could have folded the flush, although the thought crossed my mind that a bigger club could hurt me here. Good to see your thoughts were similar to mine. Thanks.

this was not inevitable...sure he's an idiot but again if you made the correct preflop raise you may have got him to fold pre...after that the hand is on autopilot

That's a good thought . . . at the time, the table was playing fairly tight, and 3x raises were often chasing the limpers. I didn't want to risk too much on T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in case one of the EP limpers had limped a big pair. My action at the time was not meant to be a steal, just a standard LP raise with a speculative hand. Maybe I should be thinking about it differently.

no such thing as raising in LP with speculative hand...that's just burning chips...if you want to speculate then just overlimp...why build a pot at all with 10 8? If you want to play the hand for a raise raise as you would with a strong hand so you can represent one on the flop...look at the 10 8 clubs and see AA and play it accordingly
