Most of you are probably big time losers, iknow i am. My stats are -2.61bb/100 for all limits i play life time. A buddy of mine posed a question the other day that was very interesting. Suppose someone offered you $100k to play russian roulette. I immediately replied "fk no" Then he said, what if the gun had 1000 chambers? I still said no, then he asked, "what about 10k chambers?" I must admit if i was offered that deal i'd have to really think hard about it considering how much i've lost in my short life time i played cards. how many chambers do you need in order to accept the deal?

It would really depend on how much money you have, how much you enjoy your life, how much of your life you have left and whether you have children/other relatives. Essentially, you have to balance the ability to actually enjoy the money (or the ability of future generations to do so) with the cost of not enjoying the rest of your life and the emotional cost to others.

If you are getting $100,000 to take a 10,000-1 shot, then 9999 times you will get the money and the rest of the time you will die. For this to be EV neutral, you have to value death at something like negative $1,000,000,000. This is an unbelievably high value for death. I bet there are homeless people who would play the game with a two-barreled gun and Bill Gates would never play. The problem is that people who are fortunate enough to actually enjoy their lives and make money don't really value $100,000 that highly so they need amazingly "good" odds to play. Obviously this isn't the case for you.
