Re: $16 - JJ, early donkfest
[ QUOTE ]
Id think youd need to put him on a really broad range for this push to be anywhere near +EV. Can anybody who is better at the softwares (maybe SNG wiz? Ive never used it) comment on how wide his range needs to be for us to push? My guess is that unless hes doing this with 88+ and AT+ we cant call, and very very few people are doing that. [/ QUOTE ] You can do this by hand. Plug stacks into a ICM calc, assume SB steals the pot if you fold and ignore overcalls: EV(fold) = 10.50 EV(win) - EV(fold) = 22.15 - 10.50 = +11.65 EV(lose) - EV(fold) = 0.67 - 10.50 = -9.83 To work out the equity needed you take 9.83/(11.65 + 9.83), this gives 45.76%. So it's +EV against: {AQ+,TT+} 46.88% {AK, 99+} 48.13% {88+} 50.03% |

Re: $16 - JJ, early donkfest
Shoving is good against an unknown. Quite often at least one of the coldcallers calls the shove too cos it's still early and they're way behind so you're getting really good odds.

Re: $16 - JJ, early donkfest
Yeah, I liked the fact that UTG+1 might come along with trash after calling off 1/8th of his stack.
I pushed, ran into QQ obv, I think I'm happy with the play though. |

Re: $16 - JJ, early donkfest
FWIW, I'm shoving this like always in a 16, obv. note villain. And much of your equity is derived from the fact that the guy that limped 44 always comes along.
