this is considerably more interesting than people are giving it credit. That transaction is certainly very very worrysome if its true.

Couldn't this just be a bet on the subprime crisis?

Maybe some believes in K-waves???

boboman,

I havent really been following things closely, and dont know much about the industry, but is the consensus that this really is a crisis? Wouldnt you have to have a mortal lock to bet that much for a relatively small return?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, the details of the transaction are almost certainly garbled beyond sensibility. A bet on the Dow dropping 30% or whatever in 4 weeks though is certainly going to carry really long odds. And that's my understanding of the consensus about the subprime business too, but maybe someone has a different view. Seems more likely than the Casino Royale scenario.

If there's no attack before sept. 21st, will you stop being a conspiracy theorist?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't believe in the conspiracy theory, however, if a catastrophe/attack does occur, and bush suspends elections, invokes martial law and remains in office...well then, the rule of law no longer governs at all in America and all that will be left is absolute tyranny, and I will NOT live under that yoke!

This is bloody scary:

The options expired today, and nothing happened.
