Re: Going to the Bronx = imminent danger?
You wouldn't, but I'm sure there are some Red Sox fans that would, if they had a few beers in them, and were the black hole that is the right-field bleachers at Yankee Stadium.

Re: Going to the Bronx = imminent danger?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] you are a moron - sorry dude just wear normal clothes and act like a normal person. wearing red sox clothing to a game the red sox aren't even playing is asking to get your ass kicked/beer thrown on you. [/ QUOTE ] pure class. (although, thats mostly because Y.S. is filled with all talk/no action folks). [/ QUOTE ] hmmm these statements don't seem to fit together - ducy? i'm just saying what my perception of the situation is. why would you wear the colors of a team that's not playing to the game? imo, it's retarded. wearing the rival's team triply so. either you're trying to prove something or looking to pick a fight. saying 'i just want to support my team!' sounds delusional. [/ QUOTE ] look, i like to watch baseball as much as the next guy, and take the game as seriously as anybody, but the mere fact that the guy has to wonder if he is in physical danger because a couple new yorkers might be too insecure for good natured ribbing is what is wrong with this whole picture. if he was sitting next to me in fenway park as a jays fan in a yankees hat, i would think he was kind of a dick, but i wouldnt punch him [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [/ QUOTE ] that's the 'constant' part of the equation - sports fans, especially in the northeast, tend to be [censored]. by going to a baseball game, i'm not going to get all the fans group hugging by the end of the night. the way i can avoid a fight is not calling attention to myself by wearing the jersey of a TEAM THAT ISN'T PLAYING. anyone naive enough to wear red sox gear to a yankees game when the sox aren't playing is asking to get beat up - both parties are [censored]. |

Re: Going to the Bronx = imminent danger?
I was there, in the right field bleachers, last month for a Tigers-Yanks game in Sheffield's return
Bunch of Tiger fans by me (I'm wearing a Pujols jersey)---no issues The Tiger fans were loud and obnoxious, too. I wish they had gotten kicked out. tigers won 9-6 or something close to that |

Re: Going to the Bronx = imminent danger?
Thanks for the insight all. Hadn't fully thought out the explicit prickishness of it, which I won't argue. Man I love that shirt though.

Re: Going to the Bronx = imminent danger?
if you wanna wear your redsox [censored] just be prepared to get yelled at
I went to game 5 of the Mets Cards 2000 NLCS at Shea with a Yankee hat and Clemens jersey (a few months after he hit Piazza in the head) I knew what I was in for. |

Re: Going to the Bronx = imminent danger?
I went to the Red Sox game last week wearing Sox gear in the Left field Upper Tier. All the surrounding Yankee fans were friendly.
Last year I went to the Skydome wearing Sox gear, I found the Toronto fan's to be even more enjoyable. Before that my friend wore his Mets gear to a Mets game at Fenway sitting in the bleachers. He got slapped in the face and thrown out for fighting. Go figure. |
