Re: Bellagio Cup ME: Hope he bluffs? Hope he hero calls? Cry?
Yeah, but does is he really expecting Steve to raise to 10k and then ever give up or is he simply not thinking about the river when he calls 10k but not 20k? Or, being Swedish, does he just get bullish and think that Steve's sick of being a pussy in these pots and is check-shoving a fat draw?

[/ QUOTE ] Mostly that he's not thinking about river because most players, and 99% of bad players, and all bad live players, don't plan for future streets. But also, he'll do stuff like bet/call turn with 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (generic example meaning a draw with no showdown value). |

registrar, I think you have to give the guy a chance to do something completely crazy on the turn. Also, if I ever did decide to run some insane bluff, this is how I would do it, not check shove.
NYwalker, I was basically planning on shoving any river. Steve |

NYwalker, I was basically planning on shoving any river. Steve [/ QUOTE ] Steve, I like your turn play, especially against the villain as you described. Since you have no showdown, villain may not put you on a strong hand, he thinks you try to bluff him off the hand at the turn. I understand your plan of c/r the turn and shove the river. But I think, given the river card, check the river will induce a worse hand's bluff given villain's previous plays. Villain is very likely to bluff with two pair. Shove may give worse hand a tough decision, yes, he is capable of making a hero call but I still think crai on the river is better. Just my opinion. |

I did care That sucks, but I mean we can only check fold this river if we have a freakin dead on read he has a flush. Either check calling or pushing here same result, just bad luck

Re: Bellagio Cup ME: Hope he bluffs? Hope he hero calls? Cry?
Steve played the hand right.
But, luck >>> skill in tournaments. Look at WSOP reports, a player with QQ pf all-in and beats AA, then wins a couple coinflips moving on winning the tournament, people think the player (even himself) has skill not luck. Not a single report would say "The donkey play sucks out again and the lucky winner still wins the tournament even he made a few really bad plays", instead, the report would say "xxx cracked AA again and eliminate a (bad) player...". It's so sick. Look at last year's WSOP finalists, I don't see most of them made thru Day 1. |
