Default Bluff-raise river against 2p2er?

2p2er is Kit. Not long ago he raised and I 3-bet and he folded on an A high flop. He just lost a big pot and I think he might be steaming so I try this.

He raises early and it folds to me and I 3bet QJs in the CO. HU
KTXr I raise the flop and he calls.
Turn's a 2 and he check calls.
River's non-pairing 5 and I can't imagine he has anything so I raise his river bet?

What hand do you think you are representing here such that a river bluff on his part makes sense?

If he's steaming will he be able to lay down any made hand getting 10-1.Otherwise all you can get him off of is A high.

fold preflop
the river raise is fine
assuming someone is steaming can lead you to make significant mistakes, like playing this hand against a good player's EP raise.

BTW, does anyone think that this would be a fairly normal way to play KQ?

fold pf. maybe even just coldcall depending on the table. isolating one of the better players at the table(who just raised in EP) with QJs isn't a great play. the fact that he might be steaming makes me like it even less because players that are steaming showdown more, not less.

PF: 3 betting with QJs is spew.

River: You're beat. Fold.

He's getting better than 10:1 to call your river raise. Unless you're holding a chopping hand, I don't see him folding often enough to make the raise good in an immediate sense.

And I'd much rather be 3betting preflop with 87s than QJs.

You have represented a strong hand. He has basically told you that he has a one pair that he thinks is mediocre. I don't know about Kit in particular, but 2+2ers like to bet / fold.

You hold probably the worst hand in your range at this point, which from a game theory standpoint is exactly the one you are supposed to bluff-raise. You're against an opponent who is capable of folding, so there is no reason to think that you can exploit him by bluff-raising less than optimally. Go ahead and make the "default" play.

good luck.
Eric
