Default JJ - Final Table

I don' know if it's relevant, but these two hands happened in a row. I had played with the Button for the majority of the tournement and I thought he was a very solid player - he never seemed to be making plays - was patient and always showed down a winning hand.

SB showed K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (three of a kind, Kings) and WON 164,522 (+85,511 NET)

Now I get pocket Js and he 3-bets the UTG all-in - I was about to insta call - because I thought the CO might be tilting - then I thought - no. He does not need to be donking his chips away - and he has played solid all game - so I then started thinking that he probably had gotten another premium hand and was hoping we thought he was steaming. That was my reasoning - I put him on QQ or better or A-K ! UTG had a wider range - I figured 7s or better or a high A.
Now here's the part of my reasoning which I am really not sure of! I was thinking that if UTG calls - one of them is out - and that's an extra $120.00 to me. At best I figured I'd be 50/50 with the CO ! The other annoying part is that stars software had been folding my hands quickly - so I had very little time to think this through. But even now - days later - I'm still not sure.

Any input would be appreciated ? What do you think about my ranges ? - Too narrow for this stage of the game ? I will also add that the BB was extremely aggressive - not the kind of player you'd want to be raising lightly against from UTG or anywhere - really!

i hate to be the monkey in the middle here.
calling gives UTG odds to come along and you are three way with JJ.

maybe c/o is tilted here, but i'd probably whine and fold this. C/o getting busted is good money for you, UTG getting crippled is ok too. you are ok on chips.

This is a pretty gross spot, especially given your read. I think your range is a little tight, he could easily be isolating with TT/AK, or maybe AQ/99. I think AA/KK smooth calls the raise.

I don't think UTG is coming along with anything below 99 if you get it in, he's not changing his decision because you called. I mean maybe he decides with so much in there he'd get it in with AQ, but I doubt it. He either has TT+/AK, or doesn't. I tend to think with that raise he might have AK b/c he's trying to protect it, as opposed to most players do 2.5x at this stage with other premium holdings. He is UTG too, so you have to give him more credit for having a legit hand, as opposed to being BTN.

In the heat of battle I push here. I guess folding is ok if you really really trust your read because you still have 24BBs at the end of the hand. It's just so hard to pass up JJ, and the fact that if you win here you're locking up top 3, probably first.

I think your ranges are too narrow. UTG is actually CO-1 & so to shove over him I put COs range nearer 99+/AQ+ & thus JJ is an overdog so I call.

I think a fold is fine here given your read, you have not invested in this pot and if he busts...you win
