Re: Effang - I really dont think 100 to 200 is bigger than 2 to 4, at least on full tilt. A solid, uncreative tag can beat 100, they can beat 200 for 1ptbb less, but they would soon get reamed by regulars at 400.

Personally, I would like a 100+ 50- split. This is for personal as well as logical reasons.

Firstly, the biggest jump in games is from NL 100, to NL 200. That difference is difficulty in games, opponents, money, etc.

However, the difference between NL 100 and NL 50 is incredibly different for different reasons. NL 100 is the first level where you are playing the same regulars. NL 100 is the first level where 3/betting is a "common" occurence. NL 100 is the first level where people POSSIBLY limp/fold versus the standard limp/call.

Splitting at NL 200 is fine, but it really hurts the NL 100 players looking to move up. I think splitting at NL 50 is much better. The NL 50 guys understand the VB mindset enough to help those in smaller games, and NL 100 people get some more answers regarding how to deal with regs.

[/ QUOTE ]This is mostly why I changed my mind about this(because I moved up and it's very different).

Can we just split the forum on a one month trial basis and if traffic doesn't sufficiently increase then remerge the two?

[/ QUOTE ]I don't think this is a good measuring tool either. A lot of $200+ regulars say that they'd post alot more if the forum was split. Mr. Donk and SABR42 come to mind but there have been many more that have said the same.

Im in favor of 100+ 50- for a few reasons. Firstly I play 100 mostly, sometimes 200 when the games are good. I don't find the strategy to be all that different. 400nl though there is def a jump up, and 50 is def WAY donkier and loose. Also 100nl is where I'd imagine the real grinders begin, it's possible to make a living on 100nl, seems like 50nl and below would mostly be hobbyists.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is why I think it should be split into 3 forums. 50nl and below, 100-200nl, and 400nl+ because of how the games play. Like you said 50nl and below is vastly different than 100nl, and 400nl and above is vastly different from 200nl.

This way people can give much better advice which is better suited to the actual game.

I am an uNL player and used to be against a split. However, I have changed my mind in the past month due to the seemingly huge influx of new posters here, many of which are 25NL and below. Although I feel like a split would cause me to not get advice from the better players here, you guys are responding less to uNL posts anyway. I think that a split is now in order.

QFT.
Please split so we dont have this debate anymore.
I dont get the "Less Traffic Argument" either, there is no shortage of posts around here - just because we dont match MSNL who gives a [censored]?

Its quality of posts that matter.

Splitting at nl100 seems stupid imo. Its like nl50 for twice as much money. NL200 is where the game really changes. Players at NL100 will let you run them over and bluff them out of pots all day, at NL200 people start fighting back and some people even know how to play poker.
