I really tanked down to the last second before I called this. I convinced myself that he bets 88-JJ here trying to get me to fold what has to be the best hand with my UTG 3betting range at the 10-20 level. I was correct here this time but the problem is that terrible players take this line with a very stong made hand on the flop and then bet the river like this. His river bet just seem like a bet that wanted me to go away too. If he bets something more 2/3 to 1/2 pot I'm probably more inclined to fold to what's going to more often be a vbet.

If you check the turn I think that everyone always thinks it obligates you to call the river, but it really doesn't.

Okay, but one reason you play passively in a WA/WB situation is to induce bluffs. It's sort of a pity to induce a bluff and then fold to it.

What hand can villain have that is bluffing? I think it's rare to see a random tournament player smart enough to turn a made hand into a bluff.

well obv i couldn't help but see the response obove me but i think this is a call, so many draw type hands rep the ace and you beat almost every other hand considering preflop and flop action.

Yeah I think this is a call because anybody who has 88/99/TT in villain's spot or a hand of similar value should realize that they almost never have the best hand and make some desperate illogical bluff praying we fold. Also unless he is absolutely terrible KK = AK here for sure.

calll he knows you don't have the ace and is betting most of his range here. And you beat most of his range.

[/ QUOTE ]

I check behind turn with AK/AQ for pot control shaun.

[/ QUOTE ]

So you call river bet with AK/AQ?

If you do then call with KK because suh a small % of his range is stregthened by that ace, so therefore AK and KK have the almost identical value vs his range.

[/ QUOTE ]

I thought this was a very good post. Whats the difference between AK and KK here? that said, i'd have called i think
