Re: Stuff that made your life way better than you thought it would
[ QUOTE ]
I don't really like much TV, but getting a DVR was fantastic since my wife doesn't sit next to me and say things such as, "I don't want to watch the National Geographic channel. This is stupid, let's watch Oprah." NO YOU MOTHER-[censored], I DON'T WANT TO [censored] WATCH OPRAH. [/ QUOTE ] I wonder if anyone markets a "cable filter" that allows you to basically ignore certain channels, and not have to actively flip through them. Maybe a setting where you can say "hey I'm Duke" and it knows to skip all but about 10 channels that I will ever watch at all. |

DVR is high on my list. Even higher is email, which I read somewhere is considered the greatest innovation to come along in the last 100 years or some crap like that.
At the top of my list is the hybrid club. I totally sucked at long iron shots before and now I have no problem with any shot from about 210 yards in. Awesome purchase. |

This one's easy for me: Cell Phone
I went through the majority of college without one, figuring I just didn't really need it and didn't want to waste the $40/month on it. I don't know how the hell I did that. |

a girlfriend who is a great cook and has pornstar-bedroom-behavior
DVR (allows for keeping up to date w/ tv series) food processor (chopping onions and garlic is very time consuming when you cook a lot) coffee table (for food, feet, laptop -- after 6 months w/out) cat (named after the leader of the autobots) EDIT: laptop - I never saw the need and couldn't justify spending that much extra for portability. |

Tivo, ipod, my wireless Logitech mx1000 mouse (if you have a basic mouse, you should consider upgrading to this), my Nintendo DS gets a lot of playtime, and wireless internet.
Wireless internet has truly changed the way we can access the web from nearly anywhere at broadband speed. No more having to be at a desk right next to the cable modem or in an office building. |
