Default T.J. Cloutier\'s new book..How To Win the Championship

How to Win the Championship: Hold'em Strategies for the Final Table by T.J. Cloutier

I just looked through this book at my bookstore today. It looks like it is full of anecdotes of how to play in different situations.

Anyone read this book?

I've thought about it, but I suspect there are many other books more deserving of my time. If it's anything like his other books plan on a few hundred pages of weak/tight strategy.

You should check the book and read old reviews here and elsewhere before buying any books from this publisher. Cardoza has been re-releasing a lot of old books recently, especially by Cloutier and McEvoy, with new titles and new covers, but with little or no update to the contents.

I am not familiar with this particular book, but I'd suspect it is not new.

Hi Ben,

I was suspecting that too. However, I think this book is somewhat updated as T.J. did make references to some recent WSOP hands from 2001 and perhaps later.

I only skimmed the book but it did look like it had some interesting tidbits on how he thinks through different situations.

It does, however, look like the typical Cardoza format with large fonts. I don't like that type of layout at all.

T.J. is one of the all time greatest NL players so that is probably the only reason why this book should be checked out.

I bought it. I read it. It's pants.

Why did I bother? All his books are crap. I couldn't help myself. "He can't put out another terrible book. This one's bound to be good" etc. But no, same old rubbish.
