[ QUOTE ]
Please allow me to respond to this slander. If you want to make accusations about a property, you should probably gather as much information as possible. This will help you avoid looking foolish in the end.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's only slander if it's malicious, false, or defamatory. I did that on accident (when I claimed y'all had the worst comps of any US casino). I meant to write "some of the...," a statement I still believe correct. I apologize for the error (and the other one later down).

My main problems

[ QUOTE ]

A $6 time rake has been our Time rake since we began running these NL games. We ask the regular $1-$2 NL players if they would like to be included in the BBJ, and their answer was a resounding YES! While I agree that $6 is somewhat high, the average rake on the game if we took our normal 10% would be much higher. Do the math!

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't doubt that the players like it, nor that it's good business for you to use it.

Here's the math. $6/half hour = $12/hour = 3PTBB/100. Average rake at 1/2, established over 50k+ samples and all over the small a micro stakes forum, varies (due to playing styles, etc.) between ~2.15PTBB/100 and 2.5PTBB/100, only exceeding 2.65PTBB/100 at the worst limits with the worst rake.

3PTBB/100 > 2.5PTBB/100. You're incorrect.

[ QUOTE ]

For a person that knows so much about Win %, you sure haven't figured out that no matter how hard you try, you are never going to outplay the lower limit players.

[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]
These guys are at the Casino with $100 in their pockets and they couldn't care less about Pot Odds, or Pre-Flop Strategies. If you are basing your 2-4-4-8 play around a book, Good Luck!

[/ QUOTE ]

It's not about just being able to beat the game, it's about maximizing your profit. And yes, books help you do that. There's a reason SSHE is the limit player's bible on this forum.

[ QUOTE ]

Once again, you post is wrong. We only charge EITHER, a timed rake or take a rake from each pot. Not both as you suggested.

[/ QUOTE ]

I am in err there; I meant to type "BBJ rake." This you can tell by the numbers I used in my later posts.

[ QUOTE ]
When the traffic situation with I-64 arose we altered our Phone In time to 40 minutes, instead of 20. If you have waited over an hour for a game, then I apologize. That is rare. That being said, if you started a list of interest for a game that was not already running, and we couldn't get enough players to start a table, then it is a definite possibility. That could not be classified as the Casino's fault, could it?

[/ QUOTE ]

Again, it's not about "blaming" the casino for the traffic, no more than I "blame" Vegas for being on the other side of the country. The fault is irrelevant, but the occasional traffic and waiting time stuff is not.

[ QUOTE ]

"The worst Comps of any Casino in the US." We offer $.75/hour towards comps. These comps can be used at any food venue, and we are in the process of allowing our players to use these comps at Retail Shops and for Hotel stays. I am sure that your online site that you play at offers much better comps than us, but we are competitive with all Rooms in our region, and more generous than many established Casino's around the country.

[/ QUOTE ]

The comps are bad compared with other IN casinos. As I said before, I intended to say "some of the...," which can be verified against my other posts in the thread. I regret the error.

I appreciate you going to all this work to address my concerns, and it validates what I said about your staff. You're still the best place to play in So. Indiana, as I said before, and while your gaming conditions are not ideal, I'm not "mad" about them--I'm trying to make my money and you're trying to make yours. In a rare moment of accuracy, as the other guy said, charging the maximum the market can bear is good business. That doesn't make it good for the skilled player, though.

Actually there is a book specifically about beating low limit holdem and the concepts work quite well for a normally structured game played against awful opponents like this.

Unfortunately you are correct that there is no book covering bizarre structures like 2-4-4-8 which is sort of the whole point of this complaint.

Belterra and Argosy both offer $1 per hour. The only place I've been that is lower than $.75 is Ameristar in St Louis which as mentioned above is at $.50.

I don't decide where to play poker for quick trips based on the comps. Neither $1 or $.75 add up to enough to make any real difference for a weekend trip every couple of months. I guess in that regard you are "competitive" because it's so low it doesn't factor in the decision as to where to play.

But whether you realize it or not you aren't just competing with Belterra and Argosy... We're meeting several people at Caesars tomorrow, otherwise we would already be well beyond Caesars on the way to Tunica for the whole weekend (good timing neteller... :-) ).

So far I've only been to Sam's Town -- they offer $2.50 an hour plus free hot dogs and other snacks in the poker room, and free alcohol (thank you mississippi...). We bought exactly one meal between us the last time we went and made more than enough on poker to cover all of the trip expenses with a profit.

That difference in total experience alone makes it worth the 3x longer drive right past caesars when we have the time.

To respond to those questioning the winrate thing:

1) You don't think it's possible to have a game that is unbeatable due to the rake? Have you ever played outside the US? Try Australia with their per-hand charge.

2) I haven't yet seen a mathematical or even reasoned response to my argument. Guys, just saying "you're wrong" or "you suck" isn't a rational reply.

I agree. The game is unbeatable because of the rake.

So please don't come back and we'll fill your seat tonight with another drunk Kentucky redneck who'll stack off with A6 on an A high flop for 150 BBs.

Thanks!

Caesars without a doubt has the worst comps of any casino I have ever stepped foot in. Not only are there poker comps horrible, but there little kiosk machines suck bad. I realize that Belterra has a smaller room, but when I go there they give me a 50 dollar room rate, plus have comp me breakfast each time.

Ask Caesers for a breakfast and its like you are trying to friggin rob them.

These are a couple of the reasons I will never go back. However, it isn't totally there fault...after you go to Tunica Caesers completely blows.

That could be a sign that maybe the problem lies with you, and not with everyone else. Just a thought.

Did you ever stop to think WHY both Tunica and Belterra give more comps? Because they have MORE competition in the area (aka Major City) they serve, and in the case of Belterra, they are harder to get to as well.

I agree, Belterra (at least when I was last there a few years ago), is of the 3 Casino's in the Cincinnati area, the best when it comes to how good they treat their customers.

Then again, they have to be, because they are the furthest casino out from Cincinnati, just to get customers to come to their casino. Same holds true for them attracting customers from Louisville.

Most ppl that live in Louisville, would rather goto Ceasars, instead of having to drive an extra 60 miles to goto Belterra, so Belterra must do something to entice them into going there.

Don't be so concerned about the danged comps btw, because if that is the thing that is 'breaking you' or rather stopping you from turning a profit, then IMO, you need to brush up more on your poker skills.

I don't know you from Adam, you drop in to a thread where I am defending my home poker room against somebody posting incorrect information and don't add any content to the thread just a one liner troll post. I think the malfunction is on your end, just a thought.
