Why hasn't WSEX taken off?

[/ QUOTE ]

In the past multiple bad software/server issues destroyed their initial momentum from publicity from going rakefree. Then they kicked out a bunch of suspected bots, and the player population crashed to the point it's hard to find a game.

They say they are initiating a marketing program to reboot and try to build momentum again. This promotion is part of that, I guess.

I wasn't aware that it ever was a rock garden.

The games there kinda reminded me of some local guys I would play live with. Things start out tight and then somebody takes a beat. They get angry, start pushing and others start looking them up. More beats happen, emotions continue to rise and madness ensues.

Loooooool this is so accurate. Well described.

All of Tuff Fish's complaining about there being nothing but nitty grinders at WPX is nonsense. Some of the most consistently crazy-aggro games I have ever seen have taken place on that site.

Amen. It can be a nuthouse. The roster of hard core regulars seems to be a couple of dozen at the most. These people have played tens of thousands of hands against each other so there's a lot more psychology going on than you'll see at other sites.

The battle between the 14/12/3 TAGs and the 25/14/2 LAGs can get highly personal and you need to figure out who, when and where to make your adjustments.

There's a lot more fluidity as well. There are players who may play 3/6 and 30/60 in the same day depending on lineup or other motivations.

Some months ago someone in the mid-limit forum described WPX as a knife fight. Be prepared to get cut. The rock garden doesn't exist.

[/ QUOTE ]

if it is actually good there, it seems you might want to keep that a secret.

Well, they have to get the words out there right, WPEX never email their players about the promotion, and posting here is not going to spread the word out.

[/ QUOTE ]

i get emails about the promotions.

"Good" is in the eye of the beholder. I'm just trying to clear up misperceptions about the nature of the games. In my experience, the games play differently at WPX then at other sites because of the nature of the smallish player base.

I get e-mails from them with my RB statement yet do not usually receive promotional e-mails. no biggie since I hear about it here...but you would think they would want to e-mail ALL their players.

I always read that bots were approximately break even and only could profit on rakeback. That is why bots may have been attracted to WPEX rackback.

If WSEX manager is reading this thread, they could learn a lot. I mean come on, every week, we get a useless email about the rakeback made, but they never send out emails about their promotions, how would they think that their players or people knows about it, 90% people don't read 2+2 all the time.

Still, the traffic has definitively pick up during this promotion, but it would be a lot better.

They DO send emails...perhaps you're not getting them for some reason? I set up an account a couple of months ago, but haven't played there yet...got an email last Friday about the 100% RB promotion.

I see MicroBob didn't get an email either...do they have an opt-in/out choice for promotional emails you guys might have chosen differently than others?
