NLTRN: Softness vs. Fees
If the softness of sites ranges from 1-10 (10 being softest) and a site with 5% fees is 6, how soft would a site with 10% fees have to be (all else being equal) in order to be equally profitable?

I was kind of thinking 8,5 or something. Is that a bad estimate?

Re: NLTRN: Softness vs. Fees
I don't know the answer, but even if the more expensive site was slightly +EV I wouldn't play there, I don't like supporting being ripped off.

Re: NLTRN: Softness vs. Fees
I don't think there's a site tough enough that charges 5% at any low or medium level that is worse than a very soft site charging 10%.
I guess Party is that soft 10% site. |

Re: NLTRN: Softness vs. Fees
11+
Just do the math. The rake difference between 5% and 10% is horrible. For example: standard 60% winner at site with 10% rake will have to play by almost 50% more games (e.x. 150 games) than his 60% counterpart playing at site with 5% rake (e.x. 100 games)to make the same profit. You must be really big winner at soft site to make up for that and the question is if it is sustainable. |

Re: NLTRN: Softness vs. Fees
At those levels I don't see how a 55% winner turns into a 65$ winner or w/e it takes to makeup the difference in rake. If I'm a 66% winner at the 11s on say PartyPoker, I doubt I'm going to be much lower on PokerStars, FTP or Bodog if at all.

Ok, I will stay away from 10% fees. Thanks.
