100NL facing a river c/r
I don't have many hands on villain, but so far he seems tight, aggressive, and pretty good.

Re: 100NL facing a river c/r
I think you should have raised the turn, small donkbets are usually blockers to get a cheap card/showdown. As played a fold is best, He probably has a hand like A5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Re: 100NL facing a river c/r
i probably should raise the turn.
but i really have trouble putting him on a hand here. i seriously doubt he does this on the river with AJ. I seriously doubt he has an overpair, both for the river c/r and the rest of the hand. a set or two pair (except the slight possibility of 98) are also very unlikely. QT is possible I guess. Sure he could do this with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] or A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. But isn't this a pretty decent spot for a c/r bluff with a spade draw too? what fraction of the time does he have the diamonds or QT versus a bluff here? |

i don't know that a smarttag is gonna crbluff spades on the river giving you 2:1 to call

ok, maybe this isn't too interesting.
I folded and he showed me 66. I think his river play is pretty good actually. |

Re: 100NL facing a river c/r
how is his river play good when you're getting 3:1?

Re: 100NL facing a river c/r
After the turn lead and your call, I don't think villain check/raises a hand with any value. This looks like a "well, it's my only chance to win the hand" bet to me. I probably raise the turn though.

I think if I'm villain (not there's many [any?] hands I would play this way), I've got a spade draw or something like TT as a pretty decent part of OP's range. And while given prior action on the hand, a c/r bluff doesn't make a ton of sense, many players don't put their own actions in context and he may have pushed trying to represent a lot of strength even though this is the first time in the hand. Ie. I don't think he even thought about his river check when he decided to raise. Think how you would play the river here if you had a hand that was beating AJ. Going for a c/r is really unlikely I think. |
