ACists that support Rand are like peace activists who support Netanyahu. Netanyahu is pro-peace, that is to say, he's in favor of the Palestinians disarming and Israel having 100% of the power.

That's what the Randians are calling for when they slam unions, and the welfare state, and simultaneously DENY THE EXISTENCE OF THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX and describe big business as an oppressed group. Rand:Capitalist::Lenin:Socialist.

They're both pro-state freaks.

The most that can be said for her is that she plays to win.

Care to have any sources to back up your claims? I doubt it.

Snowball,

I like Rand for some things and dislike her for others - her heroic portrayal of the individual, of the entrepreneur, is pretty awesome. Her statism does suck.

As an escapee from a system that was supposed to be where the state withered away, she actually believed in America. Imagine that.

Well, I do oppose the welfare state (it is the twin head of the warfare state, imo), but I'm very pro-union and anti-big business. Then again, I'm no Randian, annd I don't really condider myself an ACist (per se). But Rand's Big Business: America's Most Persecuted Minority imo really represents the low points of Rand. She has a lot of good to offer though, most especially her novels (she doesn't always deny the existence of corporatism, for one thing, as can be seen in Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead).

So I think your points might be valid criticisms of hard-line Objectivists, but not of people who 'support Rand' in the sense that they recognize that Rand has offered much of value to the libertarian and individualist movements.

Obviousely all the ACist will not vote but will also be part of Libertarian debates and discussions.

Why is this obvious? Some ACists vote and some don't. We don't all rationalize our laziness.

Why is this obvious? Some ACists vote and some don't. We don't all waste our time on meaningless anonymous gestures just to make ourselves feel warm and fuzzy.

Yes, thank you for proving my point. And every time I point out to you and others the illogic of your position, you never respond.

You said something like this the other day. I have no recollection of those events. Link to a precise rebuttal?

Thanks.
