Architecture in Helsinki! Awesome. Do the Whirlwind It' 5 [/ QUOTE ] I clicked on the links and now I wish I had died without hearing these two songs There is no way cutesy/annoying indie pop like this qualifies as: "Basically just songs that regardless of genre, likes or dislikes, or whatever else can be widely appreciated simply as a beautiful piece of music" (sorry to single you out i just get really frustrated at lethargic responses to this type of thread in general... and thankyou for the nina simone links) |

Re: Music Thread: Songs to hear at least once before you die
I know this is the ElD forum and all, but I would be kind of surprised if someone didn't try to sneak a rickroll in there (might have actually been done, I didn't click any of the links).

Re: Music Thread: Songs to hear at least once before you die
You're undeniably correct. I just got excited when Phatty listed them. Their music is juvenile and gay and unfortunately I like it a lot, but it's got no business among all-time great works. Redemption?:

The best song on that Jeff Buckley cd (IMO) and my choice for this thread is "Lover, You Should've Come Over"

Re: Music Thread: Songs to hear at least once before you die
Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber
considered by many to be the most beautiful piece of music ever written. voted the "saddest work" ever in classical music, and the highest selling classical piece on itunes. played at the funerals of fdr, jfk, and princess grace. check it out- Adagio for Strings If ten minutes is too long for you, skip to 6:00 and just listen for a minute.
