So because of the regulatory change in China there are no longer U.S. companies that are cheap relative to their fundamentals?

I am licking my chops atm.... "Be greedy when others are fearful" anyone?

So I'm about to enter the market using index funds in the next few days/week. Obviously this is a buy and hold strategy, but do the recent events have any bearing on me such as when I should put my money in the market?

Earnings just don't support the current prices.

I thought I heard that the average PE today is something like 14 and that this is not troubling by historical standards. I have not seen historical data about PEs but would be interested in seeing this data but dont know where to look for it. Anyone know a source?

I heard Cramer say the same thing...time to break out the spreadsheet. A 14 PE is very buyable.

Either mid-afternoon today or mid afternoon tomorow is going to be a locally good time. Look for a concave up, leveled out graph in the index in question & decreased volume.

However, I have no real opinion on the longer term direction of the major indexes. This may be a horrid time on a larger scale. I make a point of only trading on a timeframe where I can accuratly predict what's going to happen, and my crystal ball rarely sees farther than about a week ahead.
