Yeah, it does seem that the NL player pool is drying up a bit. However, finding a good game is still relatively easy.

If I ran the poker room I would:
* make sure I had competent dealers
* offer tornaments with low($30), med($50-$100), and higher ($150+) buy-ins
* run promotions offering extra starting chips for playing ring prior to the start of tournies
* sread the games and structures that customers requested.
i.e. NL,PL,FL or Omaha, Stud, Chinese poker, etc.
* Offer a reward system of some sort to reward the regulars for playing every day, etc.

The most important thing a poker room can do for its player base is listen to its customers. Here in Oklahoma, its all indian casinos and most of the Poker room managers actually didn't even know how to play poker when they became the manager of their room. I get very frustated with how some of the local rooms (within 80 miles of my home) are run but they Indians have a monopoly so I just do the best I can with the situation.
