Pete,

That's easy to say in theory and very hard in practice. The discipline to play very low stakes at the start to avoid risk of ruin (assuming as I said, a one shot deal) would be very, very challenging for a guy who was the skills and experience to play the much bigger games later on. Starting off with a bad run could be psychologically disasterous. So the "real" number is quite small. Similarly, if one was one of those Idiot Savants that can play 15-20 games at once, then you wouldn't have to move up so much and could just low stakes grind to the number. But the number here is similarly tiny, and PLO isn't the best game for such a thing.

I doubt there are many people here who have actually started small, won big and washed and repeated. And yes I know you are probably one of them

By indefinate time do you mean a massive number, or a massive amount of reloads? By indefinate amount do you mean a number close to $1k. Like $2k If you meant no reloads, get to say $50 or $100K, then either you are congenitally lucky or you haven't really had a massive downswing yet.

Any quality mid-stakes player could turn $1k into $50k in a relatively short period of time (say several months) with virtually no risk of ruin, if they had no expenses and were able to multi-table and put in a lot of hours.

[/ QUOTE ]

The real question is what (on average) the fastest way to do this would be, and the average number of weeks (working 20-30 hr weeks).

1. 8-10 tables of PLO25 (when under $1k, which is 40 buyins and therefore a very low ROR) to generate lower risk sustainable income. Get to $1500 and use the excess $500 to play with 10 buyins at $50 or 5 buyins at $100 to make a "run" at the higher stakes.

2. Use TheRempel method of mixing in tables at new levels as bankroll increaes.

3. strictly conventional 30-40 buyin strategy.

4. MOP analysis of when to move up/down levels based on winrate/stdev (don't have book in front of me for page reference).

5. ?????

Guys -

I play iPoker and FTP HU PLO almost exclusively. I'm looking to add a 3rd site for HU PLO to switch it up when I get bored of the aforementioned sites.

Any suggestions? Does Prima, Crypto, etc??

[/ QUOTE ]

PokerStars just added HU tables a few months back. They started off slow but are steadily getting more popular. The tables are at the bottom of the lobby (under the micro stakes) so its taken some players awhile to notice they installed the HU tables.

Where do you see any frustration? I'm making fun of him.

I stacked him, he doubled up (off someone else), then had to leave because he had >20bb albeit a netzero at the table.
