Re: ***Official 2007 Los Angeles Angels thread***
The only chance this team is going to have in making some noise is if they don't sit with their thumb up their ass during the trade deadline. Andruw Jones, or someone is going to be available and they better take advantage.
Their pitching is very solid and can get by only running at 80% all season with Colon, Weaver, and whoever else off and on the DL. Their offense is still a year away from being fully developed imo. That is of course if all these young guys don't follow in the footsteps of Dallas MacPherson. |

If Colon is healthy, they have a very good rotation. Lackey, Weaver, Santana, Escobar & Colon is nothing to sneeze at. Hopefully they bring up Brandon Wood sooner then later and get him some time.

swept the Rangers to open the season...Mathews is contributing, making some defensive gems in the outfield, Vlad is Vlad, and Kotchman looks well-seasoned...
Looking forward to Brandon Wood getting called up and Howie Kendrick breaking out this year... Once Weaver and Colon get off the DL, they're going to have a formidable rotation.... |

Re: ***Official 2007 Los Angeles Angels thread***
Why don't the Angels have Mike Piazza? Rumor was he wanted to sign with us, for even something < 1 milion, but instead we get Shea Hillenbrand. I cannot remember the exact timing, but it seems off to me.
I know we signed Shea after Juan Rivera was hurt, but I thought it was understood Piazza was very willing to come our way. Hopefully our FO didn't really prefer Hillenbrand over Piazza, but rather he was the best option left at the time. |

Mike Scioscia really annoys me sometimes. It didn't work against Kendall who sucks at throwing runners out so why would you think it was going to work this time
