Default Vacuums - Dyson?

I finally broke down and decided to get a new vacuum. I was set on this one , but you can see not very good reviews, lol.
Piece of Junk

Probably not a lot of cleaning experts here, but a couple people have to have more knowledge than me. I guess Dysons are supposed to be pretty good, but not sure I want to drop 4 bills on a vacuum (the cheapest one(. But I did notice, Target is giving a $100 GC with any Dyson this week.

I bought a pet hair dyson, and although I felt stupid for spending so much on a vacuum, it is amazing. It seems to pick up a rediculous amount of stuff.

My mom bought a dyson. There are a lot of products that are sold for high dollar amounts because of their name and aren't very good products.

A dyson is not one of those. If you can't spend the money just wait till their patent runs out which I've heard is sometime soon.

Got the pet model off Ebay. It really, really sucks. (how can I be the first to say that?) Now, I'd get the one with the big ball. I love that thing.

Yes get a Dyson, British engineering at its best. We are onto our 3rd different model type now our lass wont get anything else.

He recently did a new washing machine as well although not sure how good that is.

The best vacuums are Miele. So much better that Dyson.

FWIW, consumer reports lists the "Sears Kenmore Progressive with Direct Drive 35922" ($300) #1.

The "Eureka Boss Smart Vac Ultra 4870" (#4) was the best value at $140.

The Dyson DC15 (Ball) came in #9, the DC07 #20, DC14 #21.

I don't trust CR on everything (especially subjective stuff like audio speakers), but vacuum cleaners are the kind of thing the really know how to test.
