Re: Well-known movies that famous people were in when they weren\'t fam
[ QUOTE ]
All, Both of these are borderline, but a lot of people who know him from Swingers don't realize Jon Favreau was the big fat guy in PCU (is that a well-known movie? maybe not) and Rudy. [/ QUOTE ] In PCU, right before the main character runs through the frisbee game, he stands on the sideline trying to look inconspicous next a person I believe to be Ben Affleck. It's only for a second or so. |

Re: Well-known movies that famous people were in when they weren\'t fam
Well I have managed to read about 15 pages of this thread so I might as well add mine. If these people have already been mentioned then oh well.
Johnny Depp - Platoon Steve McQueen - The Blob John Goodman - Revenge of the Nerds and Raising Arizona Steve Buscemi - Miller's Crossing(Sam Raimi also had a small cameo in that movie if I remember) Ed Harris and Ted Danson - Creepshow Crispin Glover - Friday the 13th Part 4 Wesley Snipes - Major League Lost Fans: Terry O'Quinn was the evil stepfather in The Stepfather, one of the more underrated horror films of the 80s. Other then that the only other thing I remember him from is the few episodes of Alias. |

Re: Well-known movies that famous people were in when they weren\'t fam
Saving Private Ryan was mentioned a few times in this thread. I watched it again and noticed a familiar (to me) actor.
In the TV show, "The Unit," one of the Delta Force guys is Sgt. Major Mack Gerhardt, played by Max Martini. At least he has a promotion. In Saving Private Ryan, he played a Cpl. He was first in the scene where the found Matt Damon's character. He was the highest ranking person left in Ryan's unit. He stayed with Tom Hanks's unit and was the guy who was shot in the throat just before the guy he was with (Pvt. Mellish, played by Adam Goldberg) died in a knife fight. |

Re: Well-known movies that famous people were in when they weren\'t famous
Midnight Madness, an early 1980s scavenger hunt movie that was in heavy rotation on HBO in the 80s, featured a young, pre-Teen Wolf Michael J. Fox and a cameo from a pre-Pee Wee Herman Paul Reubens. (Also Flounder from Animal House, but he was as famous as he was ever going to get by the time Midnight Madness came out.)

Another Graduate cameo: Norman Fell (Mr. Roper from 3's Company) plays the landlord in Ben's tenement.

The Graduate: Ryan O Neil.. "hey where is the Make-out king getting married"
Rebel Without a Cause: A very young Dennis Hopper as one of the teen-age punk antagonists. Hopefully not mentioned... thread is too damn long to read the whole thing! |

Re: Well-known movies that famous people were in when they weren\'t fam
Since Excalibur was brought up earlier - Patrick Stewart
Also - Krista Allen in "Liar, Liar" Also - both James Gandolfini and Aida Turturro in "Fallen" Also - Josh Malina in "A Few Good Men" (Tom, the orderly who's going to call the President and tell him that we're surrendering our position in Cuba) Also - Bill Paxton in Aliens (also, John Connor's (from T2's) stepmom and Boggs (from Shawshank) are in this one.) Paul Giamatti in Saving Private Ryan (he was also in "Private Parts" as 'pigvomit' - CJ Cregg was also in this, though I can't for the life of me remember the name of the actor off the top of my head.) Richard Schiff (Toby from West Wing) was Kevin Spacey's lawyer in Se7en. As a bonus, anyone remember the old Budweiser "yes I am!" commericials? ("I am Mr. Ga-li-wee-ketz" - Limo Driver "You mean Dr. Galakiewiezcz?" "Yes I Am!") Well that was Eddie Jemison from the Ocean's 11, 12 etc. Dennis Leary in "The Sandlot" man I could go on and on... |
