Show one, show all?
So, I was donking up the local 3-6 game the other night, in one of two casinos I play in. Three of the dealers who deal in the other casino I play in were playing in the game, and the following happened.
I open-raised with A-Q, and got called by a guy in the cutoff. The player in the button was one of the dealers in the other casino I play in, who knows me pretty well. Flop was 7-9-x, I bet, cutoff raises, I call. Turn was a six, I check, cutoff bets, I fold. Cutoff shows his cards to the button, and noone else. I ask the button what he showed, and he said he showed 8-10 for the straight, at which point the caller got pretty pissed, and the button apologized. Was I out of line to ask here? And should I have just asked the dealer to invoke the show one, show all rule? |

Re: Show one, show all?
Ask the cutoff guy first, then if he refuses ask the dealer.

Re: Show one, show all?
My approach would be the following:
1) Let it go and don't ask anyone If I am in a mood where that isn't possible then I would proceeed to ... 2) Ask your opponent 3) Ask the dealer show one show all I'd never put someone I "know" in a spot like you did to your dealer/friend from the other casino. That has nothing to do with poker, it's just inconsiderate. |

I only really asked at the time because a) I had raised with A-Q three times, and been beat by total crap every time in that session, and b) I was a little pissed he showed one guy, and not me. In the future, I'll remember that 90% of the time people show their hands to one person in this position, and that one person doesn't bust out laughing (i.e., he showed a total bluff) that this means they had the joint. |
