Re: Pocket Aces, was this a terrible call?
Flop raise is too small. Make it $4.50 or so. Turn bet is so weak it may have instigated a bluff. I fold these. The c/r is pretty ominous here. Dunno if 67 is in villain's range.

Dont post the results until you have a bunch more replies. It may sway a posters decisions.

I think one pair is rarely good here without a specific read on villain.

Re: Pocket Aces, was this a terrible call?
I would've liked a bigger flop raise too. you are not getting that much information from his call with your bet.
As played, I think I have to fold to the cr..but Im not happy about it. |

Re: Pocket Aces, was this a terrible call?
You only have TP, without a read I would not have put my stack in here. reraise on flop is too small, size your bets based on the pot not on his bet.

Re: Pocket Aces, was this a terrible call?
bet flop more, around $4-$5. i think his turn raise basically tells us he has you beat... played it like a set of 8's maybe or 2 pair.. i fold here without a good read.

Re: Pocket Aces, was this a terrible call?
OP, just like someone already said, don't post results until enough people have posted. Also, to minimize bias even more, word your subject more carefully. Asking if you made a "terrible call" suggest that you lost the hand. Maybe write "AA overpair faces ai c/r on the turn."
About your play, I would fold as played. Even if we made a bigger flop bet of around $4, and a 3/4 pot bet at the turn, I think we should still fold to an ai c/r. The villain wouldn't do this with just a pair. A flop call and a turn c/r is typical of 2pair or set. Villains with a FD or SD typically just call at the lower limits. He could have already made his straight too. |
