I didn't know what to make of this microbet. I knew I wanted the pot larger but I didn't want to push him out, so I made a small raise I thought he would have to call.


Turn: ($4.25) K(2 players)</font>
SB checks, Chris bets $3</font>, SB raises to $6</font>, Chris calls $3.

Normally I would instantly 3-bet here, but I've become shell-shocked from a terrible month of long shots hitting and me paying them off. J-10 is certianly in his range, so I make the weak play and call, hoping the river pairs the board.

River: ($16.25) K (2 players)</font>
SB bets 27.32 putting me all in.

I think there are 3 possibilities,
1) He's shoving with the straight
2) He has trip kings
3) He has kings full, he check-raised the turn with two pair, most likely K,5.

Odds are 1.6-1, so I need 38% to break even.

On the flop you're only pushing out hands that usually don't put any more money in if you make a real raise instead of a weakish raise while other strong hands that you have crushed will usually build a big pot with you.

The preflop limp, turn minraise and river shove could be KQ/K9, Q9, JT or 55 where you are 2:1 against this range. I'd call.

Yes, you call. JT is a large part of his holding.

Once the board paired, you should be thankful he pushed so you can get it all in.

absolutely call, the only thing you lose to is KQ and the very uncommon K9. considering JT is huge in his range, along with any K and 55, this is prettymuch best case scenario. you should be singing sweet songs to get you're money in like this. if it just so happens that he has KQ, thats just the way the cookie crumbles. It is the worst type of -EV to fold hands that make you your money. theres no way you could just magically put his range on KQ,K9 when JT and all the other combinations are much more numerically plausible.

what would you have bet if you had been checked to? Same as a standard cbet, right? Pretend the flop had $2.75 in it and he had checked the flop, and raise that amount.

Dry, with position, I'd be making my raise something like 2.25. On a wet flop, $3 (so he'd have to call a psr).

Raising $1 is silly.

Not getting all your money in somewhere would be silly.
