100 bullets is great. i have all of them. sortve like sin city in a way, though less abstract.

i also agree with kingdom come. if you liked kingdom come and alex ross, try out

300 is excellent. but thats just because i like FM alot.

i for one am more of a comic nerd. while i enjoy watchmen, maus, V for vendetta, etc, i also enjoy the more of the kid stuff.

with that said, i really like

i really really enjoyed frank miller/john romita jr.'s

all i can think of right now. i have to go down to my collection and see what else there is.

Any of the Hellblazer series is gold.

Also, "Maus" and "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns".

I've never read a graphic novel, sans Maus which I had to read in 8th grade, but this thread has inspired me. I'm going to the store to check out Sandman now, which sounds quite interesting. I'm looking for series (is that an appropriate term?) that has a single iteration, and has come to an end. That may not be clear, basically the Dark Knight stuff looks interesting, but there is so many batman things out there aside from it, which puts me off. Like I would not want to read a graphic novel of spider-man (never read the comics), because there is so much other stuff in the spider-man universe that I'm not familiar with. Am I correct to assume that most of the stuff recommend in this thread is stuff I would be interested in (like Sandman)?

I'll let you know how I enjoy Sandman.

The Watchmen, Alan Moore.

One of the great stories of the last century. Zach Snyder is in preproduction on the movie right now.

I like Wanted. It isn't very deep or anything but it is enjoyable.

I did read Infinite Crisis and enjoyed it, but it is a horrible place for anyone to *start* reading. Identity Crisis is far better to get the ball rolling on the DC Universe.

i'm not a big comic book fan, (haven't really read too many) but my little bro is. i was looking in his room for something to read the other day and i came across this huge hardcover book. It turned out to be Sandman. A big collection or something. I am really liking it. I'm a big fan of novels, and comics are very different. Definately going to be reading more comics in the future. Think I'm going to check out the Frank Miller batman stories next.
